How the performance fee works

We track every save
Each cancellation we prevent and each failed payment we recover is logged with timestamp, amount, and reason. You see every event in your dashboard.

30-day attribution window
We attribute saves over 30 days. If a customer we "saved" cancels within 30 days, the save is reverted and the fee is refunded.

Fee billed every 2 weeks (1st and 15th)
On the 1st and 15th of each month, we calculate saved revenue for the preceding 14-day period × your fee rate. Charged automatically via Stripe Invoice.
Example (Free plan): Last month we recovered €4,500 in failed payments and saved €3,200 in cancellations. Your bi-weekly performance fee is 15% × €7,700 = €1,155. Net gain: €6,545. No monthly base fee ever.
Example (Growth plan, €199 + 1%): Same €7,700 saved. Performance fee: 1% × €7,700 = €77. Total bill: €276. Net gain: €7,424. Growth beats Free once you save more than ~€2,650/month.
Frequently asked
Do I need a credit card to sign up?+
Yes. We require a card on file to bill the performance fee (or base subscription on paid plans). You won't be charged until the first billing period ends. The Free plan has no base fee — only the 15% performance fee on revenue we save you, charged every 2 weeks.
When does Free make sense vs. a paid plan?+
Free is ideal if your saved revenue is below ~€564/month (Starter break-even) or if you want to validate the tool first. Once Retainly saves you more than ~€564/month, Starter (€79 + 1%) becomes cheaper than Free (15%). The ROI calculator shows the exact crossover for your numbers.
What if you don't save me anything?+
On Free: you pay zero — no base fee, no performance fee. On paid plans: you pay only the base subscription fee regardless of results. We don't offer a revenue guarantee, but you can cancel anytime if the tool isn't working for you.
Is there a setup fee?+
No. Self-service onboarding takes about 20 minutes (Stripe Connect + SDK install). Free forever on the Free plan.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes. Free plan has no subscription to cancel. Monthly plans (Starter, Growth, Scale) cancel at the end of the current billing period with no further charges.
How does the SDK affect my page performance?+
The SDK loads asynchronously, weighs ~26kb minified, and only renders the modal when triggered. No impact on your page load metrics.
Do you support payment processors other than Stripe?+
Stripe Connect is our primary integration and required for automatic offer execution (discounts, pauses). Paddle is supported via webhooks for event tracking — offer execution requires Stripe. Chargebee and other processors are on the roadmap.
What about GDPR/data privacy?+
We are GDPR-compliant. EU data is hosted in EU regions (Supabase Frankfurt). DPA available on request.
